I am a cat whisperer. I have two cats who started out as strays dropped off near my house. My cats watch me sew. My cats watch me cook and sleep in my bed. They sit about five inches from the needle watching it go up and down while I sew. It kind of hypnotizes them....No matter how bad my day is...my cats Muffin and Princess are at my side. I love my children. My cats I love even when the children are being most interesting. The cats have seen me through a messy divorce, the oldest two children leaving the nest, and illness. Anyone else use cats instead of drugs or therapy sessions?

I can't wait to come home from work and see thier little faces, I think about them on the drive home. My husband and I don't have children, so they are definitely treated as our babies! I couldn't imagine life without them.

I used to be, until DD's cat, who is staying with us, walked up to our new leather couch and clawed it (we've only had it since the day before Christmas) and DH is very unhappy since the repair is not covered by the warranty.

Normally, I do like cats, but I think it is time for him to go home.

You hit a live one here. Just watch the reviews and notice the cameo appearances. My youngest Nessie can't stay out of my pattern pictures. In fact, I think that they are attracted to the crinkles of the paper. Right now Nessie has her nose in her tail catching some ZZZ's, Toby is out guarding the back yard, while Dweezil guards the front.

Yes, cats make life better.

Leather plus cats....bad combination. I use this double sided sticky clear film on the corners of my fabric sofa. I bought the stuff cheap at the pet store. It works like a charm and does not hurt my furniture. I put it on the corners of the sofa. Sorry about the leather sofa. Leather to a cat is another animal....not good.....sorry.

I put clear packing tape on the corners of my (new) sofa - it really worked, she has totally left it alone. The old sofa turned into a scratching post. I bought the fanciest scratching posts from the pet store and she doesn't go near them. I even tried some kind of eucalyptus spray. She drives us nuts, but we love her anyway.

my two cats are a brotherand sister who both would like to be an only child. Even so, when I was ill several years ago and earlier this fall when I had surgery, I was never alone. One of them was with me all the time and would wait for the other to come in before it went out. Certainly don't need drugs or therapy with that kind of devotion.

There is also a spray stuff that you can get at the pet store that keeps cats from scratching.
It works pretty well if you follow the instructions and use it every day.

I had no idea he would do such a thing. He never came near the two "fake" leather couches we had in the family room. Normally he is in the crate all the time except when DD comes over to change his litter and feed him. He is in our bathroom because he had a huge raw patch on his hip from mosquito bites and stayed with us when his buddies moved to her house. It has taken since April 1st to heal because he also has feline leukemia. DH felt sorry for him and started letting him out for 30 minutes at a time so his muscles wouldn't deteriorate. He did hold him on the couch with a blanket in his lap a few days ago, but normally Tux stays away from the furniture. DH was in the kitchen and Tux just walked right up to the couch and reached up and clawed it with both feet with no warning. I have at least 8 small holes in the top and side of the cushion. Who knows what he was thinking? Maybe because DH was not there? Maybe the leather smell? DH's nephew gave us 30 feet of 10-ft chainlink and posts, so we'll get the new pen extension done as soon as we get a weekend -- we'll be out of town this weekend. Still have to purchase more screen to cover the new part. Too bad the outdoor cats can't be indoors, but with a 1200 ft. house, 2 indoor cats, a dog, a teenager, and a 5 year old, no chance of that. But I have to admit, I'll be glad to get my bathroom back. Guests have to walk through one of the bedrooms to the bath between them, and some just ignore the sign and use the hall bath anyway, even though it is impossible to keep it clean and odor free. I feel sorry for Tux, but not the least bit happy about the damage to the furniture.

Kitty seems to be having a bad time.....You are being nice to a kitty who needs some love.
