Date: 1/31/09 11:00 PM Are any of you planning on entering the vintage pattern contest? I've got lots of great vintage patterns, and hope to do something for it. I've also wanted to do something for the vintage sew-along, but have yet to get started on anything (where does the time go???). One of these days I'll post pictures of some of my patterns for you all to see, but so far haven't had time to even figure out how to do it!

Date: 2/1/09 1:11 AM As far as I know, it's slated for April - and I volunteered to manage it, as a payback to PR and since I have no ambitions to participate - y'all scare me, old time patterns are just indecipherable to me - but hopefully I can interpret the rules!
I'm sure we'll hear more as the contest times get nearer. Normally, it seems to be about 2 weeks ahead - expect mid-March for more info. ------ Suo ergo maledicto

I have a couple of things in mind, but haven't decided yet! ------ A bad day in the sewing room is better than a good day at the office.

Date: 2/2/09 8:54 PM This sounds like a lot of fun. I'm not sure I'd be much of a contestant, but it'd be fun to try. I'm glad it's not until April, because I hope I'm not needing to put in so many extra hours at work by then.
Is this an annual thing? I looked around the site for guidelines for this contest, but couldn't find any information beyond the fact that it'd be in April. |

Date: 2/2/09 9:49 PM Whoever is managing the contest will post the guidelines closer to the start of the contest. The great thing about these things is the camradarie (boy, did I spell that wrong...). I figure if you win, it's just the icing on the cake compared to that. Plus, it kicks your booty into doing something... or thinking about doing something.....

Date: 2/2/09 10:49 PM Here's a link to the contest gallery from last year's contest.
At the top of the gallery, right beneath the sponsor (thank you Patterns From the Past!) there's a link you can click for last year's rules.

Date: 2/4/09 12:21 PM Yes, that was the kind of information I was looking for! Those rules sound very do-able (though I understand this year may not be exactly the same). Last year's entries look amazing, too. |

Date: 2/21/09 10:49 PM Last years entries were very inspirational. If only I could figure out how to find the time to fit it all in! I have a couple of vintage patterns I have been wanting to make. ------ Kelly
