Our rural island was ravaged by bush fires Christmas 2007, so I know the fear that unremitting, thick, choking smoke brings on. To stay and defend or maybe get lost in the smoke over the road, trying yto flee; to feel the guilt of a survivor.
I know I share eveyone's disbelief, but I can't begin to know the grief, and I'm sure there'll be some '6 degrees of separation' that will link me with a victiim, and for those that need to grieve and mourn, I thoroughly reccommend crying it out of your system, then, for me, the rule is "Life if for the Living", and so I get on with it.
I'm relatively new to pacthwork and quilting, and the class group I belong to does not do community quilting, so I'm looking to harness my limited talent with others better able to put something all together.
I know I can make 9 13" square patchwork heart blocks, and wonder if others could donate their skill to join or quilt or organise (in Victoria) or, what ever it takes to get some quick quilts made for te Winter nigths that aren't all that far away, down this end of the universe.
If any of you are aware of fellow crafters coming togther for joint projects, I'd appreciate knowing about it.
