Date: 2/19/09 10:18 AM Just noticed that the new patterns I saw last week at Joann's are finally posted on the website:
New Simplicity designs
Quite a few things I like, but I have to marinate on them for a while before I *must have* anything. :)
2644 - Project Runway dress with some pretty variations
2645 - Threads suit - I don't love the fabrics they've chosen, but I like both jackets with the V-neckline. BCD cup sizes too!
2647 - knit dresses - so pretty. I initially didn't like the droopy sleeves, but I wonder if they might be more flattering made up - they're hard to see in the pattern photo
2648 - Amazing Fit dress, very curious about this one
2654 - I like the high-waisted skirts for sure. Still undecided on the shorts and pants...
2656 - Skirts with pockets!
2657 - I can't really wear this kind of neckline for work, but maybe for something cute on the weekends
2685 - pretty bags
2682 - I like these aprons. I don't really wear aprons that much, but I probably should when I'm cooking. |

Date: 2/19/09 10:33 AM I like that first dress you list, the Project Runway one. I also like these sewing accessories. If you check the line drawing if looks like the pattern includes an arm for your dress form! How cool is that?! I've been thinking about getting a dress form, and considering the difficulty that I have with sleeves, that would be a great addition. ------ "Creativity is the residue of time wasted." No wonder I just keep getting more and more creative! |

Date: 2/19/09 12:29 PM I am so glad you pointed out that sewing accessory pattern (and warned me in advance that there would be disembodied arms on display.) That really is a great idea. ------ “Never try to teach a pig to sing; it wastes your time and it annoys the pig.” -Robert Heinlein and Ann's father. Thanks for the reminder, Ann.

Date: 2/19/09 4:45 PM The dress form arm is a great idea. It would certainly be useful to stick one on my mannequin when I take photos for pattern reviews. ------ The essence of life is statistical improbability on a colossal scale.

Date: 2/19/09 11:48 PM I don't mean to be a hater - but I am sick of Project Runway patterns. |

I haven't bought any new Simplicity patterns in a while, but I think I'll be picking those up. I like the Threads suit, too.

Date: 2/20/09 3:17 AM I really like this Plus-Size Project Runway dress and jacket 2662. The jacket is cute and I love the drapey sleeves on the dress. Pity it's not available in my size. |
