Subject: Need help with an old Baby lock Machine Date: 3/8/09 7:51 AM

I recently purchased a Baby lock EA 605 Overlocker but it didn't come with an instruction manual. Does anyone have a manual that they could copy and email to me? My only option so far is to have my local dealer contact baby lock and they will forward me a copy for $70. Seems a little high for a photcopied document that only has 27 pages.

Look at Sewusa.com. They have a black and white copy of the manual you need for $10 plus shipping.

Well I downloaded a manual only to find that it wasn't very clear and not as helpful as I had hoped. After 2 more days of trying to thread it without success I have booked it in to be serviced and threaded properly.

Has anyone else had any experience with this machine?

Sew4less on line has manuals but I don't know if they have one for your serger. I have never used your model but I have some info on a BL..EA605. You might be interested in getting the Chilton book "Know Your Babylock" by Naomi Baker and Tammy Young.
The EA605 takes BLX2N needles and Allbrands on line might have them.
The EA 605 does a 4 thread safety stitch, a 2 thread overedge, 2 thread double chain stitch, 2 thread flatlock and 2 thread blindhem. This serger like my old babylock that was a 4/2 machine did not do the 3 thread stitches like most do but it did have the chain stitch which was so nice and a great serger. My old BL was a 4 thread model and one of the first with DF.
The EA 605 does not have differential feed, sews 1500 spm, has a push button stitch length adjustment and dialing the tensions does take multiple revolutions.
I hope you can find a manual. Maybe try and contact Tacony Corp. as they have always been the exclusive distributor of BL products here in the USA.

The front opening of the serger should have a graphic showing how to thread the serger.

Some brands/models require an exact threading sequence.

Lift the presser foot and open the tensions (set at 0) when threading.

Once threaded, never re-thread the loopers.

Cut the thread at the spool, tie off with the new thread, raise the presser foot and open the tensions and maneuver the new thread through the loopers, under the presser foot and over the feed dogs.

This video starts out on the wild side, but that is part of the fun of "Threadbanger" videos.

I have the manual - do you still need one? Send me a PM with your email or send me an email at savagecoco0@gmail.com.
