Date: 4/17/09 10:17 AM I've been trying to find soft tulle. I've had absolutely no luck. Thanks for any suggestions.

Date: 4/17/09 12:54 PM Do you mean cotton tulle or English netting, the soft, expensive stuff for bridal veils and such? If so, you can find it at these places, where it runs about $30/yard:

https://store.marthapullen.com/?page=shop/browse&category_id=8b7d10595affed4d84b7eee6bff124fa&

lacis (http://lacis.com/catalog/catalog.html) has it, too, in various degrees of fineness--prices varying accordingly (!), and in silk, which goes for about $180/yard. |

Date: 4/17/09 1:07 PM There are several fabrics that we tend to group as tulle in our minds. Perhaps you are thinking of something like english net (scroll down the page a little to find it)? This one is polyester but it can be a natural fiber as well. Cotton net is sold as bobbinette. There is also silk tulle which is harder to find. And there is the basic light weight tulle sold in many colors at JoAnn for next to nothing. ------ Liz

Date: 4/17/09 9:09 PM Oh goodie! I might need some of that for DD's wedding gown and I prefer to order from a familiar name rather than test a new to me vendor at this point.
The link to Marcy Tilton's fabric here. Nancy, your link went to gorgeousthings blog. ------ Liz

Date: 4/19/09 4:17 PM Whoa I love that cotton tulle from MT! It looks more substantial and mesh-like than the evening wear or bridal types I'm used to. I don't how I could use it (assuming that I'd be able to sew it ) but the idea of using it in a full, frothy way for spring/early summer really appeals to me. |
