Date: 5/16/09 6:05 PM I am expanding, and my pants are beginning to be a bit tight! I have some older pairs that I've held on to in order to repurpose as maternity pants. My plan is to chop them below the waistband & then add a thick & stretchy waistband.
What amount of stretch am I going to want in the new waistband? I need something that I can expand into (I'm just beginning the second trimester now, so I'm not huge yet), but also something that will be tight enough to keep my pants up!
I'm looking at a 92/8 cotton lycra blend; is that enough lycra?
Also, any tried & true tips, websites or tutorials on doing this would be welcome, too. |

Date: 5/16/09 8:58 PM I just used the regular old cotton interlock you can get from JoAnns. So far I haven't had a problem with it.
Also, you'll usually use some elastic too (it will go inbetween the two layers of interlock). I have used 1 inch and three inch. I think I like the one inch better. -- Edited on 5/16/09 9:00 PM -- ------ http://theramblingsoftcm.blogspot.com/
