Narcissa, I've never seen this before, so I'm sure it's new. One hundred dollars is a lot of money to spend on a bias tape maker -- unless you really love bias tape.

I agree, Nancy. A whole lot. I saw that box somewhere but I can't remember where. It had to be at Jo Anns since it was recently. I'll have to try to find to get an upclose look.

I saw those at JA's the other day. I didn't actually stop and look at it becuase I was in a bit of a hurry. Next time I go back, i'll take a closer look.

Does seem on the high side ... especially compared to the Clover manual ones. But then, if it's at Joann's you can always use your coupons. I really like when they have a 50% single and also the 10% off your entire purchase

I'm heading out to Joann's in a few minutes, and I'll check this contraption out.

Wow, the price is really up there....I'm looking forward to hearing from someone who has seen the thing in person.

I have 5 of the Clover bias tape makers, total cost much less than $100 and I love them. Granted you need to use an iron, but I have made miles of bias tape with my Clover tools and a steam iron.

2012 : starting stash 386, net additions 206, used 164, ending stash 428...I'm never going to get in front of this pile of fabric!

I keep losing mine. Somewhere in my sewing room is a Cover bias tape maker convention.

Got an email earlier today from Fabric Depot about that contraption as well as
the new Simplicity Rotary Cutting Machine.

They have both on sale (the tape maker for $74, the cutter for $55.

Still seams a little pricey unless you make a ton of bias tape.

At http://www.fabricdepot.com/index.php?page=ProductPage&pageid=132067, it says it will make 12 feet within 60 seconds. The only available size is 1", but additional sizes will be available mid-summer. It sure is tempting!
