2010 PR Weekends [Canada and Philadelphia]
Great news! We are organizing TWO PR Weekends next year.

PR Weekend US will be in Philadelphia on May 14th, 15th, 16th

Our first ever PR Weekend Canada will be in Montreal on June 18th, 19th, 20th.

That's all we know right now but if you're interested, SAVE the date and let us know so we are able to talk to the hotels based on the interest.

Expense: There will be a registration fee (between $100 - $150) for both the PR weekends to cover our costs, meeting room rentals, bus rentals and a little extra for the volunteers since they spend so much time helping out. Other than the registration fee your cost will be travel, a few meals, hotel room plus the shopping.

If you're pretty certain you'll attend, please post on this poll.

I will attend PR Weekend Philly
I will attend PR Weekend Montreal
I will attend BOTH
I cannot attend

You can see the poll results once you vote.

There is no way I will miss next year! Philly or BUST!

I will be attending both. Actually, the one in Philly is marginally closer to me than the one in Montreal, even though I am in Ontario, Can. I hope myself and the rest of the volunteers for the first ever Canadian PR Weekend can show you all a really good time!

AWESOME! I cannot wait to meet you both. I had a very nice phone conversation with Anne-Marie (Mahler). The Canadian PR weekend is going to ROCK!

Thanks for posting this poll, Deepika. It will really be useful to have these numbers, even though they are preliminary.

I'm definitely attending in Montreal since Anne-Marie's enthusiasm is so infectious that I'm also on the organizing committee. We can't wait to meet our virtual PR friends in person!

Re Philadelphia, I'm going to think about it a bit longer.

I have no idea yet about the Montreal PR weekend. How long before a typical PR weekend do people need to say for sure whether they'll attend (i.e. when do the final registration dates normally occur)?

Given the time frame for these PR week-ends, only one will be possible for me. DH likes the idea of joining me in Montreal after the week-end for some Canada travel.

Since I couldn't make it to Portland, I'm really looking forward to next year - you're all coming to me in Philly, and since I won't have travel expenses for hometown PR Weekend, I'm seriously considering the Canadian one as well.

I'll try to think up lots of things to do with you all when you're here - 4th Street has some good shopping and Jomar in South Philly could actually stock your stash for the next year. Drexel University has a fashion program and a fashion museum, so I'm going to try to organize a presentation / wander through the exhibit, or possibly the costume collection at the Phila Museum of Art for those who are inclined to do something like that in addition to shopping and socializing.

I usually put registration up two months ahead of time and close it a month before the event starts. That gives us enough time to order for the number of people attending.
