Date: 6/29/09 11:00 AM Please can someone confirm, if they know how I can purchase Simplicity patterns off the $1.99 sale and get them to South Africa! I have tried the Sewing Patterns.com website and it does not allow me access to delivery in SA. I want 4 of the patterns on the sale, but it seems like shipping to South Africa off many websites is a no no! If anyone has managed to conquer this devilish problem, please advise before sale ends tomorrow! Many thanks |

Date: 6/29/09 5:03 PM Most companies are not set up to ship overseas simply because the costs of shipping is much higher..and a few other reasons..the surest way to get around this is to have the patterns shipped to you in the USA and then you have to reship them to the address overseas..expensive..yes..which is why our USA net sites do not ship overseas.. |

Date: 6/29/09 10:57 PM Postage from here overseas can sometimes be less than within the US!
I have sent heavy books to the Netherlands at less cost and quicker delivery than from state to state.
How do our military families get their magazines etc?
Actually, we should have a PenPal exchange here! For instance, I love those Australian sewing/craft magazines and Scandinavian patterns, often hard to find in the US. -- Edited on 6/29/09 11:20 PM -- |

There is no reason why I couldn't pick up pattens for someone and mail them off. I'm going to be at JA's anyway, and I work at the Post Office, so I go there everyday anyway...
I could start an international Co-Op...
I couldn't start this today, I don't think. I have a baby due next month, but probably by the end of September, early October. It's an idea.------ http://theramblingsoftcm.blogspot.com/

Date: 6/30/09 1:44 PM I sent an email to McCalls, I have already been in contact with Simplicity. Once I get all the info I need, then i'll check and see what kind of interest there might be in a co-op. ------ http://theramblingsoftcm.blogspot.com/
