Date: 7/10/09 9:30 PM I am a size 16TRW and 18 pattern so need something loose , no sleeves for hot Fl weather. Anyone know a simple pattern for knit nightdress? ------ It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something. ~ Franklin D Roosevelt 1843

Date: 7/10/09 9:47 PM Do you have a nightdress you like, or something that's perhaps not a nightdress, but is like what you want? Just copy it. I've copied a favorite nightgown several times. It's very simple, just a front and back with straps. The original had 3 rows of pleated ruffles at the bottom. The copies have both been bordered fabrics, on e a print and one embroidered, so I left a slit on the side of those. There are many patterns available, but like you, for a simple gown, I don't think you need a pattern. ------ Liana

There are comments below the pattern that talk about another link you may want to check out.

Date: 7/10/09 10:30 PM I tried New Look 6352, the short sleeveless version, doing binding around the armholes and neckline instead of facings. I was learning how to sew knits & it looked like a beginner's project but it was OK to sleep in. |
