New Vogues

I like: 1118, 1121, 1126, and 8593.

1122 reminds me of something I saw on The Fashion Show that I didn't like.

Wasn't something like 1124 featured in a Threads article?

I was just talking to someone about making gloves.

What are your hits or misses?

Good eye!!!

I'm underwhelmed but I say that often then I start seeing what everyone has made and I want to make it.

I actually see more things that I like than I did in their summer collection. I have always been happy with their Badgley Mischka patterns and there is a cute jacket. Their Anne Klein's are usually pretty nice, and this dress looks really nice.

A few years ago Ann Steeves made gloves - and there were 23 pattern pieces. And they all looked the same! And they are really really small too.

That's all it took to cure me forever of the desire make gloves!

Goody - no more clown suites.

Love the shoulder princess seams on shirt 8598. The seams on the back could have been a tad more curved towards the waist perhaps. 8592 also looks like a useful basic.

Love the Marcy Tilton vest 8599. Pretty, trim and interesting. The jacket - not so much with the oversized collar.

Seems like oversized coats will be in this winter. Burda featured them in their august mag and take a look at 1128. Well good for us in the north. Room for lots of layers underneath.

Am strangely drawn to 1130. Wouldn't look any good on me, though.

There are several easy-looking jackets with interesting details that I like. All of 8604 - 8607. Well, maybe not 8606.

For me, the "svelte" Tracy Reese and Badgley Mischka styles are too too. Feel free to love them, though. And I love that they have a glove pattern.

Yikes! Really? Here I was thinking there were two: the palm and the back. Hah!

Wow - a lot of things I really like! The 1118 Tracy Reese dress is TDF, as is the Michael Kors draped sheath 1117.

8593 is the only one I'm in serious danger of buying right now, though. I would make it as a top. :)

Can I just say...Huh?? - don't we already have about a bazillion options for duro dresses? And aren't they nearly "out" by now?

The only thing that I might be temped to buy is 8597, but I hate how they don't show it on a model.

ETA, Vogues usually seem to fancy for my SAHM lifestyle.

I'm amazed - I'm usually fortunate to find one or two things I like in Vogue's offerings but this time at least a quarter of the patterns are calling strongly to me. So many of the dresses and skirt have such fantastic little details in them that take the basic shape and really add to it. Should make for some nice fall sewing (with some fast knit tops and TNT skirts for instant gratification among the more intensive projects).
