Date: 8/21/09 2:04 PM Hmmm. I like the coats, but much of everything else looks a little juvenile to me; maybe it's the color/fabric choices for some of it.
Regardless, I'll be interested to see it when it arrives. :) ------ I've moved! Visit my new sewing blog at http://chiralcraft.wordpress.com

Date: 8/21/09 2:11 PM The magazine is up on their website as well.
I like this issue. Especially the underwear--seems strange to get excited about underwear patterns, but the cami and the boyshorts are exactly what I've needed. I think the cami could be lengthened into a nice slip too.
There's a nice selection of jackets and coats and I really like the two knit tops with the flounces at the wrists--not real practical for cooking, but lovely.
The pleated skirt is young to me, but it seems that OW tries to have some styles that teens would like, since most teens have probably outgrown the sizes in Ottobre Design. -- Edited on 8/21/09 2:21 PM -- ------ Kim

Date: 8/21/09 2:13 PM I'm mostly curious about their patterns for intimates. Sounds intriguing... Considering the popularity of the Jalie and Kwik-Sew patterns for panties, I wonder if Ottobre will live up to its reputation of 'great fit' and become one of our faves?
Edit: here is the link to see all the designs. Ohhhhh I can't wait to receive it! I see many interesting patterns in there! -- Edited on 8/21/09 2:16 PM -- ------ Surgeon General says: "Ten yards a day keeps the blues away."

Date: 8/21/09 2:53 PM Whoooho! I love it! Did a whole dissertation on the why's and how's but lost my post. Well done, Ottobre team.
Wasn't crazy about the spring issue, but this is very promising. Dear Ottobre team, keep up the good work of flattering necklines, interesting details and superb fit, and lose the unflattering-lots-of-fabric-around-the -hips styles and we'll keep on loving you. -- Edited on 8/21/09 2:56 PM -- |

Date: 8/21/09 3:01 PM Since the fabric store I bought my Ottobre at closed, and I don't want to go without, I subscribed last week to the two women's issues a year. I hope I get this one! I quite like some of these patterns. ------ "Be kind whenever possible. It is always possible."

Date: 8/21/09 7:00 PM I'm not sure yet if I want the issue. I love the look of the panties - and would buy the issue for that alone if I didn't already have my perfected pattern. It looks exactly like the cut they have here (and it is a highly modified version of Jalie, so I'd prefer the looks of this Otto one). I like the sports outfit, too, and that has me wavering. I don't care for nearly everything else. |
