Date: 9/18/09 3:14 PM I took advantage of the free weeklong time to downlaod the vintage pattern images from the Commercial Pattern Archive a couple of weeks ago. Now I have several small pattern images and I am left wondering ....what is the best way to scale these up? Any brilliant ideas? Thanks for any help. |

Date: 9/19/09 11:36 AM Hi PDV -- I'm by no means an expert, but it strikes me that perhaps you could treat them somewhat like Lutterloh patterns, which are, as you describe the images you downloaded, small versions of patterns to scale up. You might check out the large Lutterloh thread here on PR to see if anyone posted some images showing how it works for them. I know there's some sort of special measuring tape, but if you can see a close-up of it, you might be able to figure out how to adapt a regular measuring tape somehow.
Just a thought. Good luck, and let us know if something does work for you! |

Date: 9/19/09 5:57 PM I think you could do it using radial projection. If you google it there are some entries. It is essentially Lutterloh, as Kelly mentioned previously. |

Date: 9/19/09 9:07 PM OK thanks so much. I think I found an answer to what I need to do. I found this link when sorting through all the scientific mumbo jumbo about radial projection. The last two pages of the link are devoted to a very thorough explaination of the method. Thanks again and here is the link: http://www.maryjanesfarm.com/Recipes-Patterns-Instructions/bodysuit-bloomers.pdf |
