How to make patterns from CoPA downloads
PDV Member since 8/30/07 Posts: 4	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 9/18/09 3:14 PM I took advantage of the free weeklong time to downlaod the vintage pattern images from the Commercial Pattern Archive a couple of weeks ago. Now I have several small pattern images and I am left wondering ....what is the best way to scale these up? Any brilliant ideas? Thanks for any help.
kellymailinglist Beginner OH USA Member since 2/3/07 Posts: 168	Login to reply to this post Like this post Date: 9/19/09 11:36 AM Hi PDV -- I'm by no means an expert, but it strikes me that perhaps you could treat them somewhat like Lutterloh patterns, which are, as you describe the images you downloaded, small versions of patterns to scale up. You might check out the large Lutterloh thread here on PR to see if anyone posted some images showing how it works for them. I know there's some sort of special measuring tape, but if you can see a close-up of it, you might be able to figure out how to adapt a regular measuring tape somehow. Just a thought. I found this link when sorting through all the scientific mumbo jumbo about radial projection. The last two pages of the link are devoted to a very thorough explaination of the method.
