Hi. I am considering buying a Tacsew T-500 blind hemmer. I've read some good reviews concerning this machine, but not sure where the best place to purchase it would be...any good ideas. I got on the website for Allbrands, and looked at their message board. Wasn't impressed with some of the feedback about their communications with customers. It's a lot of money and I really don't want to buy a big headache.
  The prices online are about $300 less than the store I checked out in KC. Why so different?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I'd love to see info on this too!

My personal experience with Allbrands has been good; we bought my serger from them with no problems, but I've only dealt with them once.

I'm not sure if I'd buy a blindhemmer online.  There is a bit of a learning curve and it's good to have some help if you've never used one before.  Some online vendors don't actually have retail locations plus they don't offer lessons and ongoing help which reduce their overhead.

Thanks for answering my post Gigi. How hard are they to learn? I do a lot of alterations and hemming by hand is just not as nice looking as the blind hemmer is. I live about 2 1/2 hours away from the closest store I know of that carries them. I guess I just need to bite the bullet and go ahead and get it and advertise more for hemming jobs so I can help pay for it. It would take me a long time at $699. But I suppose that's the price of doing business.
Thanks ladies. I really do enjoy this web site. It's fun to see all the nice clothes everyone makes.
