I have fallen in love with the equistrian (sp) inspired coat over on newport news catalog. OF COURSE they don't have it in my size but it is soooo romantic! I keep looking at it and wondering how I could make something similar.

I dont know if the pic will come through.

I was just thinking that it looks like a military redingote.

Check out the Wiki Redingote

LOL, so I (sometimes) know what I'm talking about!

Not sure if it's double-breasted or not but I love the styling with the narrow jeans and the lacey white shirt, über-romantic.

Maybe a shoulder-princess seam coat, double-breasted or not? Even a jacket lenghtened to coat ? I don't have coat patterns to suggest, I'm in the Caribbean but all the pattern companies have coats out so...

This reminds me a lot of Vogue 8301, or Vogue 7764 View A with the peplum extended, or 8350 (with the lower front panel added.)

You would need to change the cuffs and decorative detail on any of them.

Lots of options there .. unfortunately all OOP. but I bet you'll find at least one on ebay.
