Reply to FirecrackerKTM Date: 11/3/09 1:04 PM Unless you want to make several, or none of the colours suit you, if I really loved it, I'd just buy it! Finding the right fabric would be a challenge, and fiddling with the slightly dropped waist demands some experience with knits and really good knowledge your figure. Good luck!
p.s. check outVogue 2091 You'd have to make lots of changes but the bones are there. -- Edited on 11/3/09 1:22 PM -- |

Date: 11/3/09 2:57 PM If you're looking to duplicate that look exactly, just start with a basic raglan t-shirt pattern (of which none of the Big Four nor Burda seem to have in the catalog right now!). Make the neckline wide, bell out the bottom of the sleeves, add width the shirt at the waist, etc. I can't tell from the photo you linked if there is a waist seam (well, really, a hip seam), but I think a seam would be easier than drafting it wide at the waist and then narrow below the hip so that it can be pulled up and blouse over.
If you would prefer to sew out of the envelope, in the spirit of that dress, but not identical, is Simplicity 2804 ------ http://theslapdashsewist.blogspot.com

Reply to nicegirl Date: 11/9/09 12:49 PM IIRC, a nov or dec BWOF, 08 maybe? has a t-shirt dress with raglan sleeves.
It's on my list for a party dress in a lurex jersey in stash. I kist can't remember the issue right now. ------ Fashion Maté, where I blog about what I (eventually) sew : http://fashionmate.blogspot.com |

Date: 11/9/09 1:09 PM Thanks@ Some good possibilities. I think I like that S2804 the best right now. Not sure about V2720, that doesn't seem very similar, although it's a fantastic pattern. |
