Date: 11/30/09 5:06 PM What is the secret to getting rid of that stupid, slow-to-load Burda pop-up screen?
I HATE that thing! and the passive-aggressive web designer behind it.
You dont know how many times Ive clicked that useless little box. It still plagues me.
Its not even a traditional pop-up. It gets right by my filters. I dont empty my cache or cookies regularly, so thats not it either.
Grrrrr

Subject: It drives me crazy too! Date: 11/30/09 5:44 PM There doesn't seem to be anyway to get rid of it though... at some point I'm sure the programmers will deem it's day to be done. |

Date: 11/30/09 6:19 PM As soon as I saw this topic, I knew I was no longer alone.... ARGH!!!! So very annoying that nasty perpetually present screen popping up!
Do you s'pose we all ought to email Burda and tell them that nasty screen limits the time we are willing to spend on their site????? ------ "We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are." Anais Nin

Date: 11/30/09 10:01 PM Thumbs down! I would love for that pop-up to go away. it turns up on the English language website and it's never updated. it's tragically sad as time continues to move forward.... ------ Needles Pins Thorns (my sewing blog)

Date: 11/30/09 11:49 PM I hate it too and avoid going to their website because of it. I'll check back in a few months when it might be gone. -- Edited on 11/30/09 11:49 PM -- |

I hate it as well. I have a pretty fast computer and that pop-up still takes forever, plus it makes my mouse move in slow motion. |

Date: 12/1/09 6:00 AM Hi Everyone,
I too hate that pop-up, but I've figured out a way to get rid of it!
It has to do with storing your browsing history, it would seem.
In Firefox, go to Tools > Options > Privacy and make sure there is NO tick in the box "Clear history when Firefox closes"
I haven't figured out how to turn it off in IE though. |
