Date: 1/24/10 4:53 PM I'm looking for a wrap dress pattern that's a little more evening and low cut than most of the patterns I've seen. I'd also like something fitted and not baggy around the waist.
I tried Kwik Sew 3489 but the vee hits slightly below the collar bone. Any other suggestions? I'd be willing to hunt for an OOP. |

Date: 1/24/10 4:59 PM Me too, but I don't want revealing necklines-- something for more casual summer dresses plus that "what tummy?" drape!
Pattern-lovers, is it better to have a separate waistband seam
or all in one wrap dress? Is it possible to have a wrap pattern
that works with a cotton and not just stretch fabrics? |

Date: 1/24/10 5:13 PM I don't care for the waistband because it gives me some leeway on the fit if the waist is too high!
I've never had a wrap pattern I can use with cottons... |

Date: 1/24/10 10:49 PM If you have a waist, the dress needs a waist! Doesn't have to be a seam, but darts at the very least.
There are several wrap dress patterns for wovens, the fit is not as forgiving as knits, and yet, based on how tightly you wrap, is generally more forgiving than most woven dress styles. |

Date: 1/25/10 11:32 AM New Look 6674 looks good too.
We had a discussion on the which wrap dress was the best in the plus board a while back.
There was no consensus on the best though! |
