Date: 2/5/10 5:21 PM I just heard from my local dealer today that they are going to be discontinuing the current Activa line and coming out with a new 300 series line of machines. She also said that they are going to discontinue the 630 and coming out with something to replace it. She didn't know anything more as to what new features, cost, or even what they look like. Knowing Bernina, they are probably going to be pricey! She was just at the big Bernina conference where she found this out. I did ask about the 5.5mm feet now having the eye and she did confirm that also, with quite an increase in price.
Anyone else hear anymore on the new models? Just thought all the Bernina fans would want to know! |

Date: 2/5/10 5:37 PM Hmm. I shall have to ask around here though I don't know any huge Bernina dealers as I do other brands. Wouldn't it be nice if the dual feed option trickled down to models below the 830... No, maybe not. Don't want to wonder if I'd like that!

Date: 2/5/10 6:00 PM Thanks for this info. I've been thinking about getting the 630 but thought it must be due for an upgrade.
The great thing about living in Australia is I can see the new model on-line and if I don't like it I have three to six months to buy the old model at a heavily discounted price. That's how I bought my last TOL sewing machine. I didn't like the new TOL Husqvarna but loved the old TOL. I should have enough pennies saved by July/August if I decide to go ahead, woohoo! ------ Belinda. Melbourne, Australia

Date: 2/5/10 6:20 PM Another thing, she didn't have any information on when either. This is the dealer I used to work for and it is a corporate run booth, so the information she gets is usually really reliable unless they decide to not go through with something which has also happened. Like when they said they where coming out with a kids and mens version of the mylabel software and haven't seen that yet! |
