Date: 3/24/10 4:06 PM Has anyone made up either of these bias cut patterns?? If so I would love to hear what you thought about the bias fit, style and whether they were flattering, or not.
I've looked at the designs on their website but can't find anyone who's made them up or posted photo's. Line drawings look fine but------!
I live in the UK and would prefer to hear what other sewers think before sending for these.
Thanks. |

There are only a few patterns--all based on the bias cut--and a selection of fabrics to buy, with suggestions as to which fabrics will give the best results. The reverse of the pattern/s can be seen by clicking on the picture. An arrow, top R or L, clicks to the back view etc.
Still haven't heard from anyone who's made these up. I live in hope !!

Date: 3/26/10 6:55 PM Nice ideas but expensive patterns. I've never seen a pattern for that style of skirt before.
The other shapes are readily available from other pattern companies. I've at least two stash patterns for that style bias dress, and I could fake the wrap top pretty easily from a kimono sleeved top (cutting on the bias). The jacket looks a little trickier, but a well drafted raglan jacket pattern could be tinkered with. Hmm, I actually really like the jacket, I might have to have a try with with Burda 8004.
However all of my speculation doesn't help you with how well these patterns are drafted, or what the instructions are like. Oops sorry.

Date: 3/27/10 4:56 PM That's OK. I could use some of my existing patterns and modify them for a bias cut. The thing that interested me was that the wrap tops are cut from one piece of fabric, cut on the bias but sewn on the straight of grain. If I had more time I'd use a bias draping method to work out the jacket. Know anyone who sells time?? Only joking!.

Date: 4/24/10 11:03 AM I just received an order from Fashion in Harmony - two of the patterns, the jacket and the dress, and some fabric. I plan on making the jacket this week and will post. I placed my order on-line but received a call 30 minutes later - they were short 1/2 yard of the fabric I ordered! I was so impressed by the quick catch and the personal attention. It was a pleasure! If you have questions, call them! |

Subject: Fashion in Harmony patterns Date: 4/24/10 12:19 PM Actually, I don't think they are expensive considering we are paying for someone's creativity. AND they make them up to my size!!
I am going to try the blouse.
Thanks for helping me spend my money. |
