Date: 4/20/10 1:29 PM I am trying to change my avatar photo. Ugh.
First, I clicked on Edit Profile, confirmed password as required, clicked on Choose File and chose my new photo from my computer - yep, the name appeared next to the Choose File button, clicked on Save Changes, then logged in again. Nope, old photo.
Then, I first removed my photo and logged in again - OK, that seemed to work, no photo, then I followed the steps above to add my new photo. Nope, old photo reappeared. Argh.
Then, I opened my new photo file, just to make sure it was REALLY the new photo. Yep, there it is.
Then, I resized it even smaller, just in case that was the problem, and now it's less than 10k, and then I tried the new file. Still old photo.
Then, I fooled around with the options above for a while, you know, to get it to "take" (ha). Still old photo.
Then, I did all of the above, then restarted my computer, because hey, maybe my computer has something in memory somewhere that keeps "seeing" my old photo instead of the new one... Old! Photo! Grarlwl!
What's wrong with me? What's wrong with my computer? What's wrong with PR? Any advice? |

Date: 4/20/10 1:43 PM I think it worked. (the new photo is a bright sunny picture of you, yes?) Are you still seeing your old photo? I had this problem on one of my reviews with the thumbnail photo and I think it has something to do with the cacheing. Did you hit the refresh button on your browser? |

Date: 4/20/10 1:47 PM Ha! Refresh worked!!
How funny that restarting my computer and browser didn't work, but hitting the little refresh button did. This is why DH handles the computer issues at our house - I just don't have the knack.

Date: 4/21/10 5:47 PM That's funny - I thought you guys were talking about the movie "Avatar"! I was going to agree with you - Avatar was a tad boring (or shall we say, predictable). Too funny! (Oh, and mmmckay, your new avatar is lovely!) -- Edited on 4/21/10 5:50 PM -- |

Date: 4/24/10 11:53 AM I'll have to try that refresh thing, because I have the same problem. I change my avatar fairly frequently and I do all the things you're supposed to do, log back in, etc. and the old one is still there. I've found that if I exit PR for awhile and then come back, it's changed. It just seems to take awhile. But I'm glad to find that there's an easier way. ------ a/k/a Sondra
