Date: 4/27/10 6:05 PM Does anyone actually own this machine - the Janome Sewist 500.
There are no reviews of it here or on Amazon.
Thanks! |

Date: 7/25/10 8:33 AM I owned the 525 for a short time. It was easy to use, but lacked some power. I tried mending a fleece cap (2 layers) and it did not sound as good as I liked for sewing through it. I now own a Juki HZL 35z which handles my fleece quite well and has all the same features as the Sewist did. Provided you do not plan to work with too many heavy fabrics the Sewist is a decent machine, but I am happier with the Juki. |

Date: 8/7/10 8:50 PM I have a Sewist 509. It's a nice basic machine. I haven't really tested it - I've done some piecing for quilting on it and some lycra applique. Did both just fine.
