Date: 5/1/10 12:43 PM My daughter found a Kenmore model 158-18141 at a garage sale for $7.00. It has all the cams, a monogrammer, and button holer. And, it's in a cabinet. Does anyone know anything about this machine? It looks pretty neat, but the only machines I'm familiar with are Bernina, so I can't give her an informed opinion.
Thanks,

Date: 5/1/10 3:55 PM You got a jem. This is a vintage model . I am trying to find a similar machine. The cams allow for so many intricate embroidery designs and monograms. These machines are work horses for heavy duty fabrcis also. At this price ( what a deal ) it would be worth getting it serviced to make sure it is oiled and lubed as per manual upkeep. ------ It is common sense to take a method and try it. If it fails, admit it frankly and try another. But above all, try something. ~ Franklin D Roosevelt 1843

Date: 5/1/10 11:06 PM I thought it looked like a pretty nice machine. The cams are a little overwhelming to me, I've never seen any before. I think we better read the manual before trying it! Thanks for the great reply. |

Date: 1/4/13 2:56 PM @ukdame - I just became a member here and even though I am years late in responding, I thought I would give it a go. I have a Sears Kenmore model #1814 with all the cams, feet and the instruction manual, that I inherited from a very talented neighbor several years ago. I have decided that I must get rid of it and would gladly give it to you if you would like it and if you are anywhere near. I am in CA. |

I work in Fairfield, so it's a short jog to Woodland. Would it be possible for you to send me a picture of the machine? here's my email address: debbieaw1@yahoo.com
Sorry, I did not see your message earlier.
P.S. I love vintage machines! Don't have a kenny yet! |
