Date: 5/9/10 3:23 PM DH took me out for breakfast, and then we walked the dog in his favorite park. Now I am tidying up my sewing room before I start a new project. Oh yes, one child out of three called this morning. All in all, it is a very nice day! ------ I sew, therefore I am. |

Subject: How are you spending your Mothers Day? Date: 5/9/10 7:31 PM DH went out & bought me a couple of croissants for breakfast... gifts from DH and DD (coupon for fused glass art class, and knitted lace scarf)... then helped DD finish packing her car and she left for a summer job. Spent a couple of hours weeding part of the front garden & planting a couple of perennials I just bought. Date: 5/9/10 7:54 PM Spent the day with 85 men locked behind bars who could not be with their own mothers today; part of a 3 day weekend Prison ministry.
Then we got to spend tonight with our 3 daughters, pizza for dinner, and the girls bought me flowers, and a delicious pineapple upside down cake.
My favorite mothers day ever!!! ------ The mark of a true seamstress is not in her ability to sew,
but in her tenacity to rip.

Wow, your day sure gets the most unusual and rewarding Mothers Day and the cake sounds delicious. My only child ( son ) and gand-baby are 4000 miles away so a phone call had to suffice. Cleaned house then Steak n Shake followed by an hour at the pool w/my DH. Considered myself blessed. Next year at this time I will have my second grandbaby. Subject: How are you spending your Mothers Day? Date: 5/9/10 9:45 PM I'm heading for the sewing room in just a minute, as soon as I call my Mom. I gave her a Japanese maple last week when I saw her. No card for my Mom, the card attempt is doomed. I bought a lovely card for her last year, but couldn't find it the day before Mother's Day. And what did I get from my children the next day? The card I'd bought for MY mom. Bought the card again. For my birthday, the children added "Happy Birthday" below "Happy Mother's Day" and gave me the second card! I gave up and had my Mom just read my "birthday" Mother's Day card and we had a good laugh!
DH is deployed so an nice email was all he managed. But, a couple from church took all 6 kids shopping. I got the dahlia bulbs I wanted and a pretty coffee cup. Now, the card....an ugly guy with his butt checks hanging out! I'm just going to cross out "Mother" and write "Father" and send it on to DH. This is what happens when you leave the country! |

Date: 5/10/10 0:58 AM Went out to dinner with two sons last night. Spent the day reading Laura Bush's book. 3 of the 4 sons called me to wish me happy mothers day. A nice quite day.
Did not get any of my flowers planted as we had frost warnings last night. It's May for crying out loud, we should not have to deal with frost warnings. ------ Ada
