Date: 5/10/10 3:17 PM I've been "shopping" online for the past couple of weeks for a Singer Featherweight 222 in great condition with the 110 volt plug and the original set of attachments, manual, etc...I'm a bit blown away by some of the prices I've seen, but given my love of all things antique, I'm willing to consider. But, I thought I would ask the PR community, what is a good reasonable price to pay for one of these vintage machines? Thanks in advance for your response! ------ Gail |

Date: 5/10/10 3:22 PM Are you talking about the Featherweight 222?? That is the one with the free arm. These guys are rare! Here's a picture: FW 222
Or are you talking about the 221? The non freearm model? If so, I'd say around $300 to $350. Make sure it has the case, with the latches that work, the key, and any attachments, as well as the machine--of course! ------ "We don't impose our rhythm on Nature. Date: 5/10/10 5:35 PM Unless you know someone who has one & is selling (like a relative or something).... I don't know where to go to get a good deal on a 222K.
In this economy most people seem to know they're worth alot... but you can still stumble on one.
If you do decide to spend big bucks, make sure it's in pristine working condition. |

Date: 5/10/10 6:37 PM Expect to pay a LOT for one in mint condition. An as new, true white, 221 went for just under $1,000 last week. Unless you are fortunate enough to run across one somewhere, expect to pay well over that for a 222K. |

Date: 5/10/10 7:50 PM I see that the BIN 222 just sold for $300.00 w/ a best offer.
ETA - I take that back! It sold YESTERDAY for $300, & was relisted. Interesting. You might want to make an offer on it!

Date: 5/10/10 8:34 PM I think price depends on area.
I just bought a beautiful 221 centennial model for $175 (half price)
White 221s go for $250 in my area.
The 222's are harder to find. I got a steal of a deal on mine. I got it from a PR member here.
Anyway, if you want a great 222 guaranteed and free overnight delivery, check out Graham Forsdyke's website:
Graham's site
They're pricey, but guaranteed. I have not bought from him and NAYY!!! I only mention him because he always has 222s for sale. ------ The single most important discovery made by a group of women? The Empty Tomb!
