Does this ever happen?

I'm in Western Canada and I missed the Simplicity pattern sale that Fabricland had on at the start of the month. I have quite a few Simplicity patterns that I wanted to pick up and I was wondering if they ever have on-line sales like BMV does?

I can afford 6 patterns at $2.50 but not their regular prices

I'm not sure this ever happens. The website does a discount already and earlier this year, I missed a sale on New Looks at $2,49 IIRC (didn't have internet access, found out cleaning my inbox when I did)

BUT

Above and beyond that, my big problem with Simplicity is the payment method. Have you tried buying from them? You can't do it directly like at McCall's/Butterick/Vogue.

Nooo, you have to print out your cart and mail/email/fax/call the offices to have it manually processed.

I have complained SEVERAL times but nothing has changed, even after the website overhaul. And the last time I ordered, it took at least 4 emails for the order to be processed properly!!!

My suggestion is this: find someone here to check the sales in the US for you and mail them to Canada! If you look around this thread, you'll see others have done so successfully before. I have, through several members here, in fact.

Good luck!

I searched my mail and the last major online sale was 40% off in December. So it happens, but not often. I shopped that sale and had no problem paying online with a credit card.

FWIW this place regularly has Simplicity for USD 2.99.

They apparently don't have a uniformly good reputation among PR members, but most of the PRDU members use them regularly and have no problems with them. I personally have used them 6 times or so, thus far, with good results.

But as always, caveat emptor.

Check with your local Fabricland. The Fabricland in town (Kelowna) ran an add in the paper for a holiday sale (Fri 21thru Mon 24) for Simplicity and New Look for $1.99.

Great news! One more reason why I sign up for newsletters all over the net. Information is power, right?

Well, great news for all those who can use their non-US credit cards. But it leaves me even MORE frustrated.

I guess because I live in the Caribbean, I must qualify as more international than someone in a neighboring country.

Oh, well, this is good for my budget, at leat, LOL!

Happy shopping everybody!

I had a problem with them some time ago, but eventually it got sorted out.
Since then I have ordered again a few times and have not had any more problem.
I live in Europe and I think that their shipping costs for overseas orders are very reasonable compared to other sellers.
