I've been jealously reading about all the fun to be had in Philadelphia and Montreal this year and would like to lobby for a PR Weekend in Chicago for 2011. In fact, since I want one so badly, I'd be willing to help organize it. I work for the Chamber of Commerce of a small neighborhood on the north side of Chicago (Andersonville), so I do a lot of event planning and could help make connections in the city. I even have connections with Vogue Fabrics (used to work there)!

It's been difficult for me to justify travel to the coasts for PR Weekends (can't really afford the time and expense). It would be nice to have one right in the middle of the country. Chicago has quite a few unique fabric stores to choose from (Vogue, Fishman's, and the Discount Fabric Outlet, to name a few), as well as the costume & textile collection at the Chicago History Museum (second largest in the country), and so much more!

I'm not sure when you start to discuss PR Weekend picks for the next year, so I wanted to throw my vote (and offer of help) in early for consideration.

At the end of PR Weekend in Phila, I said I hoped the next Weekend would be in Chicago.

It's the same for me.

I would certainly do my best to get there. As a matter of fact, I'd better start saving now!!!

Me too. It's not that far from Minneapolis and my friend have been thinking about going there too for fabric etc! I hope more people will show an interest.

I would be interested. I love Chicago. It would be great to have a PR weekend just 4 hours away.

Two years ago we (the PR Membership) voted for the next PR locations. It was down to Philly and Portland. So, those were the next two places. Hopefully, after the Montreal weekend we'll do the same thing again.

I actually was just thinking Chicago would be perfect! I visited last year for a mini-break and loved the city.

If I had to guess, I bet Chicago and.... San Francisco maybe? will be up there in votes. Hmmm, what would a good 2012 city be?

Since the mind is essentially a wet computer, our task is to figure out how we can best program it.

I'd definately go to a PR weekend in Chicago- it's close enough to drive to, and one of my favorite cities.

I can come! Never been to Chicago, but we now live on the IL side of St. Louis so it would be a very reasonable distance.
