Date: 5/28/10 8:34 AM I have purchased a length of this fabric, enough to go around me with some extra to make straps. I realize that straps are optional but I plan to wear a bra with the dress. I was thinking of putting the seam on the side and making flat straps wide enough to cover the bra straps. There is extra fabric on the bottom of the piece. Has anyone made a dress or top out of this product? |

Date: 5/28/10 8:58 AM I've used that material a couple times. It's super easy. To make a sun dress all you do is sew a seam up the side like you said. I've made skinny ties for straps, but wide straps would work, too. The material is stretchy, so you could just pull it over your head if you make the wide straps.
A top made out of this stuff was my daughter's first sewing project. She's 10, and was so proud. She made a tunic top and used .25" ribbon for the ties. She wore a fitted t-shirt under the top, and long denim shorts..so cute. -- Edited on 5/28/10 8:59 AM -- ------ Patty |

Date: 5/30/10 3:20 PM Thanks, Patty! I'll get busy making it. It just seemed too simple, and I thought that there was more than meets the eye. |
