I have a HK Diamond. Any more the designs all come on a CD, and they run from 85 to 200 or more. However there are lots of designs out there from the older system which used 3.5" floppy disks that are going for cheap. Has anyone used these floppy disk designs with newer machines. I do not have a floppy disk drive on any of my machines, but could easily add a USB external disk drive to utilizie these floppies........the local thrift store had a bunch at $1.00 each all made and labeled by HV Is my idea or method feasible?

Doxiema, my friend has the Diamond and the D1 with the floppy and she use the floppy disc designs on her Diamond with her external floppy disc drive.

The digitizing on Viking designs is nice, and I've never had a problem with the stitchouts. I would get them if it's a good deal. Do you get the thread chart booklets too?

You get the whole package, just like it came from HV when it was made. Most of the packages are marked from $99.00 to $149 and they are going for less than 5 or 6 dollars new and unused on eBay and I bought all that they had at the thrift shop. I just installed an USB external floppy drive to use the disks and they stitched out great. Only hting is most of the packages do not have very many designs but for the price they are hard to beat. Been thinking abouyt burning a CD and putting all the floppy disk designs on the CD, and put the floppies away and use the CD for backup. I loaded all to the computer anyhow.
