A bag of chips sounds good.

As I'm back to university, studying for 2 Masters degrees (yes, I do know I'm an idiot, thanks), and still working fulltime Monday - Friday, 9-10 hours/day (see above comment), I came up with this cunning plan to enable me to do some sewing through the week...

Just going to have a few...

Sunday mornings I'd cut out the fabric for whatever garment I wanted to do next, so that during the evenings, after work & studying, I could do a bit of work on the garment; sewing a seam or two one night, pressing the next.

So to get this cunning plan underway, I got up this morning and cut out fabric for Kwik Sew 3740 cowl top. I've been pining for fall/winter sewing, and I love this top, best cowl top pattern ever!

Maybe a couple more...

After cutting, I thought, hmmm...it's going to be a very busy week coming up, so I could just baste the cowl and shoulder seams, then after work and study tomorrow, they'd be ready to sew!

Another one won't hurt...

And after they were basted, I thought up another brilliantly cunning plan; change threads on my coverstitch, serger & sewing machines so I wouldn't have to spend my precious bit of sewing time doing that during the upcoming very busy week.

Cunning indeed!

And another one...

And then I thought, what with the machines all ready to go, and the seams already basted, why not just sew them! And may as well give them a pressing, too, so I don't forget to do that tomorrow after working & studying. After all, I'll be pretty tired by then, and will want just a light bit of sewing to do.

To carry my cunning plan even further, I figured I may as well baste in the sleeves. Then that'll be all ready for sewing after my working & studying during the week.

It's my bag of chips, I can have some more if I want!

But I'll be exhausted, what with the upcoming very busy week, and studying on top of that, and sewing sleeves, even flat, one really needs to be at least semi-conscious...so I could just quickly sew those in now.

And damn, left the iron on. May as well press the sleeve seams, then, don't want to be an electricity hog. Good citizens don't waste resources.

You know exactly where this ended, dontcha. Yep. Side seams sewn and pressed, and hems finished. Top all done.

Bag empty.

And now I don't have anything to sew during the coming week after work & studying.

Just crumbs left.

Oooohhhhh, wait!!! I have a cunning plan!!! I'll just cut some fabric out and I can work on it bit by bit during the week after work & studying...

You had to say potato chips.....

How great to have a new top in one day, I've been working on the same jacket for the past three weeks, with a slip inbetween.

You know I was just thinking I could give you some sewing homework in case you sew up your world's supply of rib

I'd get a lot more sewing done if I could read and type while sewing! Somehow studying always has immediate deadlines and sewing gets pushed to the back burner.

Just what was in those potato chips, anyway? I am very sure I need a bag or two of those.

I wish I could motivate myself to cut, sew, press and hem all in a week, and not an evening.

I really enjoy quilting. I love to play with fabrics, colors and pictures. I recently discovered how much fun applique can be. As I love making pictures, landscape quilting can be challenging, but seeing the picture come to life is so rewarding.

There wasn't anything in the bag of chips...wasn't even a bag of chips (damn, now I'm hungry again!).

It's just that with sewing, as with chips, I just can't stop!

Ok, I'm really hungry now. Stop saying chips!
