Date: 7/16/10 2:04 PM Hi. I hope this is the right forum.
I really want to makes some feminine wide leg shorts. They are loose, often with pleats or gathers...and A line like this:

http://www.yesstyle.com/en/soneed-wide-leg-shorts/info.html/pid.1022797302
This is the only place online where I found the styles I like.
I love the two styles posted above but can't for the life of me...find any patterns that have this style. All of them are for contoured shorts currently. That is OK but I have slightly heavier upper thighs and am a bit wider than the standard. I am definitely slender but still have a wider lower hip and these contoured shorts don't work for me. I need a generous cut in this area..not too generous as I am very slender but not contoured.
My one idea is to take this Burda pattern and make it short:
The Burda Pattern:

Anyone see a pattern for nice, feminine, wide leg shorts?

Just type in 'wide shorts' in the site search (top left).
Good luck in your search. |

Date: 7/17/10 8:32 PM Michelle, you were right. I first thought it might be 40's but I did more searching with 80's and I finally found some non elasticized, wide legged flared type shorts. So far this is the best match.
Thanks!!! |

Some other shorts I like:
"cigarette flared" and "split skirt culottes"
"tap shorts" "cigarette bib"
