Date: 8/4/10 9:30 AM Hey all, I was tooling around the interwebs this morning and I decided to check to see if the new Buttericks for fall were available. Well, they sorta are, kinda. If you want to see the new ones use this address
sneaky way
and once you're there just change the last digit of the pattern number in the address bar. I was able to go all the way up to 5545 and I started at 5511. There are some cute things but mostly, I think I'll be sewing from the pattern stash this time around. ------ Melody

It looks just like a dress that Tabatha Coffey has worn on her Salon Takeover show:

Date: 8/4/10 10:34 AM Thanks for that link. I actually liked quite a few of those. Some of them seem like reruns of McCalls patterns. Love the last one. So cute. ------ "framed" was taken |

Date: 8/4/10 10:53 AM I like a few of those, but a few of them scare me -- are they really reintroducing puffy, wide sleeves?
Here are the ones I do really like -- 5535, 5538, and 5544:

I wonder if I can make 5515 in boucle??
5521 isnt really my style but I kinda like it
adds 5527, 5527, 5535 and 5544 to the possibilities list

Date: 8/4/10 4:43 PM I only can see bringing home that Tabitha dress and
and I think this is pretty stylish:

and I do like one of the tops in 5511 but I'd have to see the line drawing to know what's going on there. ------ Melody

Date: 8/4/10 8:24 PM I dunno; these strike me as all over the map in terms of sleeve width, collar puffiness, and so on, but the general tone seems a bit, well, stuffy and retro, but without an edge. |

Date: 8/5/10 4:20 PM They're up to view in the traditional way now.
There are a few that I'll put on my wishlist. I like the seams and detailing on 5519 and the shawl-collar vest in 5534.
This has the feel of a sleeper collection - nothing jaw-dropping, but a lot of useful pieces that we'll probably discover uses for as time goes on. I won't pick up 5528 because I already have similar patterns, but it's a great set for sweater knits, with lots of views for one pattern. A lot of the See and Sew patterns look familiar - they're probably reissued from Vogue, as they are known to do. ------ I've moved! Visit my new sewing blog at http://chiralcraft.wordpress.com
