This jacket's left sleeve is not fitting properly at the shoulder. I have re-inserted this sleeve more than once but have not got the thing right yet. I have never made a jacket before so this is a problem for me. Any ideas on how I can get this right?? Winter is almost over and still its not complete. help... |

Date: 8/8/10 10:07 AM no suggestions at the moment but I did observe that your right shoulder looks low so your shoulders are different from each other. This is typical as we mature. I noticed this because I also have one low shoulder and wondered why things fit the way they did. I will slightly pad my lower shoulder. ------ "I am still learning" ~ Michelangelo

Date: 8/8/10 10:41 AM Have you tried putting a second small shoulder pad in the side with the lower shoulder. It may solve the problem without any modifications to the jacket. ------ Marilyn

Date: 8/8/10 5:52 PM I have the same issue. I never knew it existed until I got digital photos of my garments from the back. I solve this easily by using a small shoulder pad and/or taking a deeper seam on that shoulder. ------ http://lasewist.blogspot.com/ |

Date: 8/8/10 6:40 PM My guess is that this result has more to do with the pattern and less to do with your sewing or shoulders. Any chance you could take a picture of the sleeve pattern piece? Pattern brand and number would also help.
