Date: 8/22/10 11:29 AM If you're in the areas mentioned (or have ties to south Louisiana), please post! I'd love to find a local sewing group, and I know they're out there, but finding them is difficult when you don't know anybody!
The sewing friends I know here don't belong to any groups. I was thinking about starting a group, but since I know there is probably one I don't know about, I thought I'd post here.

Date: 1/28/11 10:17 AM I'm still looking for a local sewing group in the Lafayette LA area.
I do not quilt, so quilting guilds are not my thing. If you know of a group that meets just to sew, please let me know! ------ Pat H.

Date: 6/23/11 11:04 AM I know the American Sewing Guild meets the first Saturday of every month in Baton Rouge at Jones Creek Library. They do all kinds of sewing, embroidery, etc. That is the only group I know of. I have never been yet. Seems every time I plan on attending one of the meetings something else comes up. I was told you could attend one meeting to sit in on and see if you wanted to join the Guild. Don't know if that is what you are looking for or not. If you find another sewing group, please let me know. I live in Plaquemine, LA. Thanks, Cindy |

Date: 3/8/12 7:49 AM I live in your area, Lafayette! I didn't know you had posted until I did a review of Lola Pink Fabrics, and someone else commented. I don't quilt either, but I don't have a group that meets just to sew either. Heirloom Creations in Lafayette meets to make baby clothes, but I don't need that either. I mainly sew clothing for myself and my daughter. Lola Pink has lessons, but I think it is mainly quilts, some clothing and crafts, as does Acadiana Sewing Center.
Anyway nice to know there are other sewists out there. |

Date: 3/21/12 0:25 AM Vivian,
I am the president of the Baton Rouge ASG chapter. We do have a few ladies that belong to our chapter from the Lafayette area. One comes very regular and is on our board. Let me know if you're interested in attending a meeting. We do meet once a month, and have a variety of types of sewing represented. In April we'll be doing our ASG charity sewing project at the meeting, and in May we have a shop hop in the Covington/Mandeville area. ------ Bernina 730E, 530, and 350PE
