I am thinking about christmas. I would like to own a DVD set of sewing advanced techniques.

Which of the sets are the best visually and explain the most. I am asking this for a Christmas present.

I think it is Arabic and means "Possible to buy DVD "Threads" because the types of many of the lessons"

The big Threads DVD going back to the beginning would be a wonderful resource for you. There is also the new Claired Schaeffer dvd on sewing technique and if you go on line to Threads they have their learn to sew series. There is also Sandra Betzina's web tv to which you can subscribe. She's a great teacher and I loved her old tv show.

those both look good. I was thinking of betzina, but for 75 a year I rather own a DVD or something i can rewind and not have to be online with.

I think this is a great question. There are lots of resources for beginning sewers, but it's hard to figure out the best resource for advancing to the next level. Honestly, I don't know what distinguishes beginners, intermediates and advanced sewers. I think I have learned more from this website than I have from books or DVD's that I've tried. I participated in the beginner sew along for knit t-shirts, and I learned more from that than I have from reading several resources on knit t-shirts, probably because it's a great place to pose questions and to get advice from many experienced sewers.

With that said, I have seriously been considering buying the Threads DVDs. Are there other DVD sets that perhaps progress you through techniques, starting with the easiest and most fundamental and up through more advanced techniques?
