Is anyone interested in a PR meet-up in Los Angeles? We can hit a couple of exhibits in the mid-Wilshire district and lunch in Little Ethiopia nearby.
If we get a larger group, I can ask LACMA for a special tour of the museum's fantastic fashion collection. We can build a LA PR weekend around it. One day around FIDM and the downtown fashion district, one day at the museums in mid-Wilshire.
LACMA (LA County Museum of Art) is showing
Fashioning Fashion: European Dress in Detail, 1700-1915,
Open October 2, 2010ľApril 3, 2011.
The nearby Petersen Automotive museum is showing
AUTOMOTIVATED: STREAMLINED FASHION AND AUTOMOBILES,
Open July 24, 2010 through January 23, 2011
More pictures of the gorgeous period clothing can be seen at
The two museums are across the street from one another, in the "Miracle Mile" aka mid-Wilshire area of Los Angeles. F&S is not far from there. ;-)
FIDM will be showing 30 outfits from their famed museum study collection.

Sounds like a fantastic idea to me. I'm going to be insanely busy through the month of September, but sometime in October or later sounds good to me. The more notice, the better chance I'll have of being able to make it.
