I got my October Burda Style Magazine Today! The Karl Lagerfield outfit is cute, a jacket with the front turned up and cuffed skirt. I'd add several inches to the skirt length. There is also a cute vest and a nice blouse. I might do some tracing tomorrow!

I got mine yesterday!! I was just about to give up on Burda but this issue is pretty cool. I like that the line drawings are next to the photos. I like the shorts and capris..I know it is fall and I doubt I would make them for this season but I'm spending a month in Mexico starting mid November so I may have to give them a try!

I found it in a store saturday, so happy !
The blouses with lavallieres are a must and so on trend this winter, they go straight to my sewing list (at least the one with the big bow).
The shawl collar jacket is nice also, but the instructions are for leather with unfinished edges and no lining, so will have to be adapted.

Some patterns are nice but not sure they would work with my big frame (the "aviator" wide pants and the "aviator" longer skirt).

The swing jacket is really pretty but it was trendy a few years ago here, so it may seem "last year". I'll wait and see, but it still goes to the list.

I'm really disappointed by the lack of dress patterns, but Burda follow the trend and dresses are not so hot anymore.

Got mine today and I am very pleased with this issue. It seems that someone is listening to all the complaints here and on the blogs. Now if only they'd do something about an English website!
They brought back designer patterns with Karl Lagerfeld, whose name most of us know! I will admit that the jacket and skirt are not for my body, but my dd would look good in the skirt.
They brought back the sewing workshop with a very nice article on sewing collars and lapels.
I also actually found several patterns that I've been looking for.
Great outer jacket

This leather jacket in plus sizes

Or this very trendy, Alexander McQueen knockoff.

All in all, I am quite pleased with this issue and there are others I think that will go on my to sew list as well. I know that it has become the thing to knock Burda, but I still think that it's the biggest bargain around for stylish patterns. No, not everything is something I would want to make, but you never know what I'll make down the road.

There are several dress patterns, but if you look at Burda during the year you'll see that they tend to emphasize different types of garments each month.
If you look at the next jacket pattern, it's the same as the leather one, but longer and with pockets, it's also lined. It's the one I showed in the first picture.

Got mine today too, and I like the plus basic top and skirt patterns and there are some yummy things for my daughter as well....skirt and blouse on page 33, and the vest on page 15. BUT seriously folks, how about the "brooch" on page 20! YEOW...;)

I really like that first jacket you showed, the one with the shawl collar. It looks so comfy. It caught my eye right away when I did my first page through of this issue.

Got mine! The jackets are great classics! And I'm so happy that they started putting flats next to the garments.

I know! Is it a trend among German hikers to wear a "whimsical" brooch? It was so odd.

Not much appeals to me in the issue, but you can't win 'em all.

I love that they have real designer patterns again, and that they have a lesson on sewing lapels. I like some of thejacket patterns but I'm not sure I'm ready to sew a jacket. I do like the brown one Nancy posted.

What seems odd to me is that the numbers are not consecutive. They don't have 127, 131-134. I haven't noticed missing numbers before. Do they do this often or did they decide to leave out some things at the last minute?
