Date: 9/28/10 12:41 PM On the Fabric Mart website they have : What is Julie’s Picks all about?
It will allow you to see and feel fabrics before buying the fabric. I pick a nice variety of fabric types, patterns and colors that would be suitable for any age. Fabrics will be seasonal specific –we will also try to work ahead of the seasons so you can sew ahead! Exclusive discounts on fabrics, notions and more! (Changes monthly) Fashion drawings and pattern ideas to help you decide how you could use the fabric.
Does anyone belong to the Club? Is it worth the $50 annual fee? I'm thinking of joining.

Subject: Fabric Mart - Julies Picks 2011 Date: 9/28/10 12:56 PM It's worth it. You get a $25 certificate to buy buy fabric so it's technically just $25. Each month you get a swatch packet. This includes a good amount and very good variety. Many of the swatches are what's listed on the website so it's nice to be able to see and feel the fabric before you buy. |

Date: 9/28/10 2:25 PM I'm not sure if you receive a discount but I will say that sometimes those fabrics sell out and don't ever make it to the regular website or then the retail store. I go to the store in person a few times a year and they let me also shop for items in the back room where many of the website fabrics are and even look in the warehouse to see what's coming in the future months. Some of those fabrics are in Julie's picks and get ordered whole bolts at a time. I think it's definitely worth being in the club if you don't live nearby. ------ www.luckysewandsew.blogspot.com |

Date: 9/28/10 8:48 PM If we join now...will the membership cover 2011...or should we wait until Dec/Jan to join. Seems like I remember the membership is for a calendar year. Does anyone know? |

Date: 9/28/10 9:07 PM I think it said if you join now (before Nov 30th I think) you get a set of scissors as a bonus. You can join at any time for the calendar year 2011 (Jan-Dec), they just prorate it if you join after January.
I've been contemplating it seriously. I *should* be on a fabric diet but I really like FabricMart. It seems that most of what I buy online these days is from them. So...I might join. ------ http://kimsewsilly.blogspot.com/ |

Subject: Fabric Mart - Julies Picks 2011 Date: 9/29/10 8:54 AM I joined last month. If you call in they will probably offer your the rest of this year and 2011 for $50. I got my first set of samples last month and I was happy. There were about 30 samples. For me it is a great way to really start getting a handle on different fabric options. ------ I blog about sewing here ----> http://seamstitchsew.blogspot.com

Date: 9/29/10 1:05 PM A few years ago, FM's "sample club"(now "julie's picks") occassionally offered special discounts off of select older club offereings. Do they still do this? |
