I want to buy some bobbins on sale online, but it's hard to figure out which ones to get. I have a viking emerald 118 that came with clear bobbins. My machine is included in the husqvarna type 5 group. On the husqvarna website, they show a pic of 3 different bobbins for the type 5 group, but only list 412 56 15-45 as the bobbin number (which seems to be the green ones that seem to be different from mine in more than color).

Does anybody know the part # for the bobbins for the emerald 118?

thanks

They are clear, a Viking specific of size 15 bobbins is what the Emerald uses.

Though your machine is in class 5 and takes the class 5 feet etc. as does my Viking Interlude..I think the bobbin for your machine is the Brother bobbin SA 156 which is the same clear bobbin that my Brother and Kenmore take. It is known as a class 15 bobbin.
There is a site on line sewingmachinesale221.bizland.come that sells Viking parts and it does list the Emerald 118 in group #5 for the feet and accessories but..it lists the part number for the bobbins for the 118 as #102261103 or 102869107 or SA156. This bobbin fits many brands of machines and models made for Viking by other companies including the HuskyStar models that Janome made for Viking.

i have the Emerald 122 and I think I am using Janome bobbins. They are clear plastic. I think they are the flat sided type.

I am also using a Janome free motion darning foot on mine too. Seems like the Janome feet would clip on okay too.

I'll try and check later when the builders have gone home out of the way!

thanks! this was enough info to get me on the way to buying bunches of bobbins for cheap (and they're the right ones). Before, having only a few slowed down my projects because I wanted to use a bobbin up completely instead of taking the thread off (when I'll probably use it later & had no good way to store it)- now I have enough that I don't have to make that choice.
