Subject: Edge Stitching Foot Date: 10/19/10 8:02 PM I asked my Janome dealer if she had an edge stitching foot and she didn't know what I meant. Is it the same thing as the overcast foot that came with my machine?

Subject: Edge Stitching Foot for Janome Date: 10/20/10 10:14 AM Hi, I know that Janome makes a stitch in the ditch foot which is very similar to the blind hem foot. The difference is that you can zigzag with the stitch in the ditch foot. (You can't zigzag with the blind hem foot because it's got a metal piece in the way.)
... anyway, if you're Janome dealer doesn't have this foot (I can't remember what the exact name of it is) you can get a edge stitching foot that's made for Janome online at:
Gonesewing
This particular foot looks a lot like the one I have for my Pfaff, and I love it! Let me know if you need more help, Thanks Jen |

Date: 10/31/10 9:14 PM I want the inside of my garments to look as good as the outside. I'm not crazy about serged edges. I use them some, but never am really happy with them. Is this the class for me? Phyllis ------ Ann

Subject: Re: Pre Registration Q&A Date: 11/1/10 7:10 AM Hi Amy,
I will be showing how to use a sewing machine to seam knits. I will be using a rather stretchy, lightweight knit. I will have tips for stabilizing seams and offer a couple of different ways to sew seams on knits. Really, if you can sew a seam on a stretchy lightweight knit, heavier, more stable knits are easy to sew! Hope that helps. Jen |

Subject: Re: Pre Registration Q&A Date: 11/1/10 7:15 AM Hi Phyllis,
I will be showing 6 different seams and all of them beyond the basic seam enclose the raw edges, so they can be used for seam finishing as well as construction.
They are the French seam, open welt, slot seam, flat fell and clean finished seam. Hope that helps you make your decision! Have a nice day. Jen |

Subject: Re: Chat Date: 4/22/11 3:46 PM Hi BLMLB,
You can actually download the chat transcript so you won't miss a thing : ) In addition to the standard presser foot, I cover how to use a 1/4" foot, open toe foot and edge stitching foot. (You can do the techniques without these feet... they just make it easier. Jen |
