i have had trouble sewing w/ this type of fabric. my sewing machine needle would gum up, also the lower tension thread would get very loose. at a lower speed this sometimes helped.. is there another way in doing this. help i need a simpler way of sewing w/ this type of fabric... thanks jill berg

Hello!

Follow the lessons, and you'll do OK. I would also recommend, that you have your machine serviced, as it sounds like the machine, not your abilities. The needle shouldn't gum up, as lame fabrics don't have any adhesives or other matter that could gum up a needle.

Dear Kenneth,

I took your leather class, which I enjoyed very much! I was wondering for this Lame class whether you will also cover cutting and sewing techniques for 'liquid lame' (?), stretch metalic fabric that doesn't fray?.. Or is the class focusing on a shirt project, working with the regular lame fabric?

This class covers the cutting and sewing techniques in the context of making a shirt. I'm not familiar with the fabric liquid lame, but I imagine that the techniques here will cross over nicely...
