Quite a few people around here make quilts from their kids old soccer and hockey shirts. I don't quilt and don't have lots of those shirts but I do have an overflow of team jackets that are fleece. And blue. Lots of very similar blue fleece jackets, enough so that I'm not allowed to buy another blue fleece jacket. Ever.

I made a stuffed animal out of one. I cut around the logos for my pattern placement, and then because it's a sport with crests, sewed the crests on the sides. The crests were actually sewn in a square pattern up the sleeve but the sleeve pieces weren't big enough to cut out the crests on the pattern so I unpicked and restitched (yes, making a simple project complicated ! )

That is really cute! I like the way you kept the crest to represent the team.

Thanks. :-) I now have another jacket that's got a big embroidered logo across the back of it. Big ! logo. I'm trying to figure out what to make with that. Nothing stuffed, it would take too much and the logo is sort of ugly.

No surprise, they voted last night to have new team jackets this year, I'm not going to be able to keep up.
