Date: 10/17/10 1:36 PM Hi -- I have made this pattern successfully for my daughter so I decided to try it for myself. It is not working at all. There is lots of bunching especially in the back of the armhole/sleeve area. I may need to narrow the shoulder seam but the problem seems more complicated than that. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is a link to a photo.

Date: 10/17/10 5:14 PM Love your fabric. Would you mind taking a side & back picture from the hips up for the fitting experts to be able to help more? |

Date: 10/17/10 9:16 PM I'd say the bodice is too long and too wide across the back. I'd cut it down a size or two and try again.
The front may need it too, but it's impossible to tell without a front view of the shirt.
Oh, and maybe you should take out some of the extra in the back of the sleeve cap....I think I'd wait to do it until you have the back fitting better. -- Edited on 10/17/10 9:17 PM -- ------ blog: goodworks1.wordpress.com

Date: 10/18/10 8:30 AM I agree with "goodworks" - another suggestion is that you post these pictures for Jalie - met the owners at the PR week end in Montreal and they seem more than willing to help with fit issues - they might have a solution for you.
Good luck

Date: 10/18/10 9:13 AM just take the shirt apart and sew it deeper. It does look to wide just at the back of the shoulders. Or you could just reset your sleeves by taking them out and sewing a little deeper on the sides and shaving a little off the armhole around the back and front. not the under arm area. reset the sleeve in . This might solve the problem. Date: 10/19/10 7:32 AM Just an update on my fitting progress - Started from scratch with the basic Jalie pattern and am making adjustments to fit (or hopefully fit!). I have done a tissue fitting and one muslin. Hope to have a second muslin completed today or tomorrow and will post my progress with pictures. Thank you everyone who responded to my fitting woes. |

Date: 10/19/10 3:06 PM I think you will find that every fabric will be different and this puckery one that you've shown us may not be very similar in fit to a smooth knit fabric... ------ blog: goodworks1.wordpress.com
