Date: 10/18/10 11:18 AM I just got some absolutely beautiful shirting fabric from EOS and want to find a pattern that will work for my daughter (plus size). I went to search the reviews and the only place to look is under tops (or plus). Unfortunately Tops includes everything from jackets, t-shirts, knit tops, blouses, etc. Plus will give you EVERYTHING for plus sizes that has been reviewed. You can specify pattern maker if you want.
I would love to see Tops broken down to blouses, knit tops, sweaters, light jackets, or something that makes it easier than going through 40-80 pages of reviews. There are probably more categories that I am not thinking of and I am sure Tops is not the only area that could use some help. We have thousands of reviews now and maybe we can make it easier to look for things.
Many times I am not so concerned about the pattern manufacturer as I am about what everyone says about certain patterns for a specific item. I know I am lazy sometimes but it is just too many to go through. Am I wrong here and I should just suck it up and keep looking through everything? ------ Karen

Date: 10/18/10 12:30 PM Great ideas. Perhaps in the next revision we could request reviewers to choose from sub categories like t-shirts, blouse, tunic etc when they are reviewing a top. ------ - Deepika

Another would be to have reviewers click on sub categories of fabric type used, so it would be easy to search for a pattern for shirting or maybe wool jersey.------ blog: goodworks1.wordpress.com

Date: 10/18/10 2:28 PM Amen! I never bother looking up anything under "tops" for this very reason.
I too would love to see blouses, knit tops, & sweaters/cardigans as sub-categories.. Coats & jackets I would love being in a separate category altogether. ------ http://jillybejoyful.blogspot.com/

Date: 10/18/10 8:58 PM While we're at it, aprons and bags are extremely popular accessory items that could probably use their own categories as well.
Being me, I'd love to see the generic "costumes" broken up into at least mens, womens, and kids ... then again I have an impression collection of costume patterns and organize my personal stash by time period in addition to mens and womens. ------ I don't really make mistakes ... Yes, I DO love fabric!!

Date: 10/27/10 5:04 PM I agree about the category of tops - definitely would be great to have separate categories for blouses and tops as well as jackets and coats. |
