Hello everyone,

I'm in Mississauga and I'm new here. It's nice to know and communicate to others in the close regions. We could share what we are up to for seasonal sewing.

Thanks!!!

There's a Canada topic which is very quiet and recently an Ontario topic, here http://sewing.patternreview.com/SewingDiscussions/topic/54049

I think most of the people in the Ontario one are from the GTA. I'm just outside, 519 area.

Possibly enough people for a Toronto get together?

I know it's quite quiet in those topics. ... not interested maybe. I saw the other areas sewers get together and share alot. That's why I wanted to narrow down the area, we may have chance to see each other or chat... I even crushed to PR members in fabricstores that we've never known. it will be great if we know the others... Your area is not far from me. I drove around there all the time for day trips...

So come on sewers, please!!!

I understand your frustration, but I'm not sure a sub-thread of the Ontario thread (which never really got much steam going itself) is going to get the GTA folks to come forward.

We Canucks are a lot more chatty on the non-regional parts of this board. Funny, eh!

But good luck with this, anyway.

BTW, to satisfy your curiosity, you can find out who's near you by doing a search of the Ontario members in the "Find a member" search. It will only tell you city information for people who have listed their city.

Hi: I'm in the east end of Oakville, and you'll find me at the Fabricland at the west end of Mississauga most thursday nights when I'm waiting for kids to finish lessons. It's a habit I need to break, as I find i buy less if I don't actually go in the store......

Hi
thanks for your reply. You mean West end of Mississauga is Fabricland in Winston Churchill? I went there quite a bit. Now I know you will be there almost every Thursday, I will find sometimes possible that we can meet each other.
I know what you mean when u said you buy less if u don't get in the store. I'm exactly the same. I worked in down town for 3 years and took GO evryday. Every 2 days we had to pick up our son in Cooksville I got off there and waited in front of Fabricland right cross the station. Can you believe that I got a bag with pieces and pieces of fabrics when I got out? Wow I said to myself crazy. Recently I go down to one in Milton but it's closing end of this month. Btw evrything is 75% off already. I don't use pattern but it's now $1/ea. If you need pattern go check it out...

Anyways what re you up to? Halloween or winter sewings? Any tips?

Thanks!!!!

Yes, the one on Winston Churchill is the one I was referring to. I'm not there this week (lessons cancelled), but am otherwise likely to be found there. No Hallowe'en sewing this year, although I did spend the weekend helping my daughter with her juice box costume. Fabric is definitely easier to work with than cardboard is. I'm starting christmas sewing. Pajamas and bags out of denim for nieces, assorted aprons for various female relatives, but I'm trying to limit my sewing plans to things that are likely to actually get finished by christmas morning.

I made Marie Antoinette costume for my stepdaughter and fixed Roman Soldier for my son. Not worry about Halloween anymore.
Since last year I started to make Christmas stuff too. Thanks for reminding me that I had one dinner' napkins and table running set which unfinished from last year. Time to think about that now.

Hope running to you oneday in fabric store :)
