I'm looking for some tried and true hat patterns to make for pediatric cancer patients. I'm hoping to make a variety of head coverings. I already have a nice "comfort cap" type pattern. Does anyone have a favorite bucket hat or other fun hat that would be good for this purpose?

Thanks,
Melissa in NY

Yes, yes, I love Vogue 7811

Vogue patterns

I made view D, which is the largest photo on the pattern envelope, pieced with different pastels for my little girl. If the hat weren't in her closet in her room where she's currently having her afternoon nap, I would post a photo! Thanks for reminding me of this hat, I should post a review.

Oh, perfect! I see on the Vogue site that it is also lined. What a cute hat! Thanks so much for the suggestion.

Here's my niece wearing the hat and matching pants. Both were originally too big for my daughter, so my niece Naomi got "hand-me downs" backwards!

Happy sewing-

kwiksew 2329 has a cap which is the same as the very popular FlapHappy hats. i've also been pleased with 2231. they could be made up easily in flannel for extra softness.

Hi Melissa,

I can't say this pattern is "tried and true" since I haven't made it. But it is cute with alot of variations. I found it on the Sewthankful web site

Here is a link to the pattern photo:
