Date: 11/15/10 1:25 AM Hi! Could someone please tell me if Singer's sewing machine 1507 is able to sew stretch fabric (like spandex, swimsuit material etc)? I only ask because this is the cheapest machine I can find, and in my experience of trying to have clothing altered I've been declined by professionals because they said their sewing machines couldn't do it. But I was under the impression that as long as you bought specific needles/thread, it was possible with any machine... If the 1507 is not capable of this, could you please recommend a machine that is?
Thank you very much! :) |

Date: 11/15/10 1:33 AM hi and welcome to PR.
I am not sure where you are but if the 1507 is a modern Singer then their reputation is a little ordinary.
Perhaps others can give you specific advice, maybe you can say if you want to buy the machine in person or on line and how much you have to spend.
Personally, I use old Janomes and they are very good with stretch/spandex/swimsuit fabric.
I don't understand why professionals couldn't to alterations for you?
If you do a search in the "Sewing Machine & Serger Reviews" section you might find a machine that suits - but it may be too overwelming until you decide on a price point/if you are able to try it out/particular brand etc
Good luck with the search. |
