Well, I've been mostly lurking for over a year, helping my DH in his ordeal with rectal cancer. He finally won on Nov. 7th, 2010, and joined most of his family in Heaven. So, as I see it, he now is totally free of any of the pain, cares, & concerns, that seem so important 'til we're faced with what we think is the final ultimate end. God knows he's earned his place there, we've lost an incredibly good man.
Many of you have helped me mentally, emotionally & spiritually during this time & I want to thank you all!
I'm looking forward (I think) to clearing away the chaos in my so-called sewing room so that I can put some energy into the activity that I have always loved -- it is the best therapy I know of, at least for me.
I'm not going to post photos of the condition of that room right now, it is just too scary! Also, I"m too vain to let anyone see it! Instead I'm going to tackle it one space at a time, so I don't get discouraged.
Many thanks to all of you for "just being there"!

Pat

We are here for you. Never forget that. We do understand and rejoice in his going Home to be with Jesus.

I am a Quilter at heart. I love to play with fabrics, patterns and colors. Recently I have discovered I enjoy doing applique. I love making pictures. Using a sewing machine is much easier than counted cross stitch or oil painting for me. I enjoy landscape quilting as well. I am working on my first applique project in the spring of 2014.

Oh, Pat, I'm so sorry that your dear boy is gone though I join you in being glad that he is no longer in pain. Your perspective is inspiring. There is something very therapeutic in dealing with mundane housework things and I hope that rearranging and sorting your sewing room will bring that relief to you. Hugs!

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss Pat. This is the sort of thing that all of us have to face one of these days. I hope when my time comes I can handle it as well.

Pat, I didn't know, but had realized you weren't posting.

You were, and are, in my thoughts, my dear, and I hope you know how many of us care about you.

I was so sorry to hear the news about your husband. I felt as if I knew you because we had exchanged several emails and topics on padding out a dress form. May peace be with you in this transition.

Pat ~ I haven't 'met' you before, but after reading your post, it feels like an honor to meet you now.

Many blessings to you, and your DH, in this next phase of your journeys.

I'm glad you have found PR a place of support. We are a wonderful group of people - especially when life has you down. I'll be praying for your adjustment to the changes in your life- and for the clearing of your sewing room.
