Date: 12/13/10 0:39 AM I bought one of these for an early Christmas present for myself. The concept is great - just feed in your material and let it cut the width strip that you want. Great idea but poor design in my experience. There's a large lip that you butt the edge of the material against as it goes over the cutting blade, but nothing to clamp the material down on or keep it from wavering as it goes through. I have a back injury and had hoped it would help me when I have to cut strips. The only thing I think I could use it for would be for bindining strips since they don't have to be perfectly straight. I'm probably going to take it back. Does anyone have any experience using the quilt cut 2? I'm seeing a lot about the accuquillt go. If the price included the dies I'd get one, but there's no way I'd spend roughly $800 for a machine to cut material. Love sewing, hate cutting. |

Date: 12/13/10 8:29 AM I have the Accuquilt Studio and love it. It was a huge amount of money to spend, but if you do a lot of cutting, it is worth it. The Go! version is quite popular so I would imagine it works just as well. They have a new version that is even smaller but I don't know what sizes it cuts. They have products that actually do what they claim to do which means a lot to me. I have made some bad purchases in the past. |

Date: 12/13/10 11:56 AM Don't know if this will help--but can you use the blade of your serger for the same result--cut the fabric with the serger blade--no thread. |

Date: 12/13/10 4:26 PM I had a simplicity cutter and took it back. It just wasn't accurate enough. I have been thinking about an accuquilt studio, but only if I decide to do more quilting in the future. I've been sewing mostly garments for awhile, but there are some quilts calling my name...Tailormaid |
